Full-Time Lead Server
Little Pep is looking for a lead server to join our small team. We are a wine bar & shop in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 2-10pm.
Who We're Looking For: The right person for this job will have a knowledge of natural wine, the ability to work well as part of a team, a positive attitude, a willingness to take direction & feedback, the ability to learn quickly & adapt to a menu that changes daily, and a love of all things food, wine, and hospitality.
Job Description: This job will include bar & table service, bussing tables, assisting customers in the retail area, helping with dish, assisting with expo & running food, and end-of-service cleaning.
Must have:
• A working knowledge of wine
• Capability to make thoughtful wine & food recommendations and guide customers confidently through our menu
• Ability to work during the holiday season (closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, & New Years Day)
• Ability to carry 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 7 hours
Nice to have:
• Service industry experience
• Previous wine bar/wine shop experience
Hours: Hours: 4pm to close Wednesday - Friday & 3 - close Saturday & Sunday
Pay: $8.50 - $15/hour depending on wine knowledge. Tips are pooled and split evenly amongst servers based on hours worked. We tip out the kitchen 20% and 10% to the server assistant.
Time Off: We will close down the shop for two weeks twice a year — once in January and another time in June/July. During this time off, employees that work 4+ shifts per week will be paid their hourly wage for their average weekly hours.
Start Date: The ideal start date is mid-December, but no later than January 2.
Moving Stipend: Don't live in Winston-Salem but may be interested in this job? We're willing to help you relocate by offering up to $2,500 to help with moving expenses.
